I look forward to welcoming both existing and new clients back into my practice from the 8th of July.
There will be some changes in the process both before and during each session, to help ensure both yours and my safety. I have had to take several steps in order to be Covid secure and the following will give you clarity on the new procedures when you come in for your appointment in the foreseeable future.
Key Steps Taken
The practice will not be running at normal capacity and I will be seeing less people. In addition appointments will have a strict 30ms of spacing between them, to allow for additional room cleaning time and prevent crossover. Please be on time for your appointment as I won’t beable to extend your session.
If you arrive early, please wait in your car until your appointment. In addition, unless absolutely necessary, people will not be allowed to wait for you downstairs while you are having your treatment.
I have made the decision not to see young children or under 16s in the clinic for sessions currently, due to the difficulty in stopping them touching objects and the need for chaperoning.
New Cleaning Routines
The clinic is fully stocked with soaps, disinfectants, wipes and all other PPE equipment. There will also be a HEPA quality air purifier on at all times through the day upstairs in the treatment room and I’ll have the windows open when the weather is good. The room will be aired between appointments.
All soft furnishings in the treatment room are now disposable or wipeable to ensure all items /surfaces can be disinfected between treatments.
A fresh towelling couch cover, head pillow and blankets will be used for each client, so you won’t be lying on a cold treatment couch. Your comfort still matters highly.
Please knock on the door to tell me you’ve arrived and I will open the door for you on arrival and exit. But rest assured that all door handles are throughly disinfected after each person.
I will also take your temperature, digitally, with a remote forehead thermometer and if you have an elevated temperature, we will reschedule your appointment.
Please take off your shoes inside the door.
As has always been the case, I will continue to wash my hands prior to any physical contact and again immediately after.
All clients must wash their hands thoroughly with soap and water on entering the clinic. You will find an automatic no-touch pump bottle of hygiene soap in the bathroom and paper towels for use.
Masks, For You And Me
I will be wearing a fresh mask and tunic for every client. Out of courtesy, I ask that you wear a mask at all times whilst in the clinic, until we get further guidance on this from GOV / WHO.
Please remember to bring a mask with you. If you do forget, I will have disposable masks for your use, for a cost price of 50p.
Please also bring your own pen, if paying by cheque and a bottle of water. However, I will have paper cups for water if you do forget 💧
I will still accept both cash and cheque as payment, where possible please try to have the right fee for your session so we don’t need to exchange notes or coins.
For your session
If you need to disrobe for your session, please place your clothes into the plastic container next to the chair.
Please do not place personal belongings (wallets, keys, coins or mobile phones) on any clinic surface; I ask that you either do not bring them into the clinic with you or do not take them out of your pockets.
If you need to cough or sneeze, please do so into a tissue, dispose of the tissue in a bin and immediately wash your hands.
If a tongue diagnosis is a required part of your consultation, I will be asking you to text or email me a photo prior to your appointment.
New government guidelines mean that I will require renewed consent from all clients. This is to state that you have been taking all reasonable precautions to reduce personal risk and do not think you are at risk of bringing Covid-19 into the clinic and that you consent to a treatment where a practitioner will come closer than one metre of you. This will be emailed to you before your appointment for completion.
If you are a first-time client, your pre-session consultation may now take place via the telephone or video- conferencing – rather than all face to face. I will also email the consultation form to you to be completed prior to the visit.
If you are an existing client there will be a short update consultation – to see how you have been since pre lockdown and whether you have any Covid-19 issues. Again this will be by email or telephone.
Do you have a cough or fever? If for any reason you are unsure whether you should visit the clinic please ask me.
If you are experiencing a fever, cough, or sore throat or other possible Covid symptoms, please cancel and reschedule your appointment for when you are no longer symptomatic and after a 7 day duration. If you have been in close contact with a person infected with COVID-19, I ask that you please reschedule your appointment for 14 days past the date of contact.
Amid the ongoing uncertainty of COVID-19, I have modified my cancellation policy to offer greater flexibility to you. If you need to reschedule because you have suspected symptoms, there will be no penalties.
